Holiday Wishes

I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays or what is left of them.  I know I will be savoring every last second of Mike being home from work and the kids off of school. I hate schedules, packing lunches, bedtimes, alarm clocks and letting them dictate our every move.  We prefer PJ days and staying up late prolonging bedtime with  family tickle fights, where everyone is the winner when we collapse from giggling and our faces hurt from smiling. I will however enjoy having a clean house again. I can't stand Christmas overtaking the house. All of our decorations have already gotten the boot back to the garage. Yippee for no more tinsel and fake pine needles stuck to everything. Somehow, I seem to have lost track of what I originally wanted to say. So let me try this again.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or other winter holiday of your choice).  I can say that although we enjoyed watching the kids open presents, eating lots of delicious food, spending lots of time with family that it was not the Christmas I was hoping and wishing for. Sure the kids were spoiled and we were given some great gifts too but it couldn't replace two people, who could not spend the holidays with us this year. As some of you know, my Mom is still trying to recover now from her second surgery and is having many complications which made it impossible for us to enjoy the holidays as we normally do altogether. We did make the best of it and are continuing to do so by visiting Mom at home as much as possible. I will ask you all for your prayers (healing vibes, good wishes and thoughts)  for a quicker recovery and no further set backs. It seems to be 2 steps forward and 1 step back lately and its really frustrating for us all but especially Mom who would just like to be healthy and happy.

So, once again Happy Holidays and stay tuned to a special New Years Eve Highlights edition.

A Second Kick at the Christmas Question Can.

I have no orginality left at this time of year. I saw another mommy blogger friend of mine had recycled her Christmas Questionaire that she answered in previous years, so I thought hmm...I can do that. Frankly, I am tired. I was up late Needle felting and wrapping Christmas Presents. Today we made snow flakes and Ill likely be scraping glitter glue off the furniture until Easter. Even as I type this I have a handsy 4 month old that thinks he should be able to grab everything and protests quite loudly if he doesn't get his way. I'm beyond tired today. So I'm stealing my friend Roxanne's idea over at Life with the Bakers. Thank you!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping Paper. For the last couple years I try to do a special wrapping paper for each kid to make it easier under the tree. This year Ella has Tinkerbell, Harmony has Princesses, Camden has Lego and Sawyer gets the left over Christmas themed (Poor forgotten last child). Santa has Silver sparkly paper.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial, I don't think I could possibly attend to the needs of another living thing in our house. Just ask the neglected house plant how he feels, or the Sea Monkeys, RIP little buddies.

3. When do you put up the tree? If I had my way December 24th and would take it down the 26th. Just call me the grinch. Unfortunately we put ours up last week and we have had 2 broken ornaments already.

4. When do you take the tree down? The sooner the better. Usually New Years Day.

5. Do you like eggnog? Capital D-isgusting - Grooooossssssss

6. Favorite gift received as a child? MY Cabbage Patch stuff. I loved my green foam Cabbage Patch Chair

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, 3 of them.

8. Hardest person to buy for? My parents, so this year I have given them the gift of acts of service. Cleaning their house, doing my moms make up for evenings out...things like that. They buy whatever they want or need anyway so this is something I can do for them that they appreciate.

9. Easiest person to buy for?  Camden. 4 Year old boys love everything and are cheap to shop for.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?  Neither this year. I just haven't found the time.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?  Hmmm....I'm sure there has to be something but I can't think of it.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?  Love Actually....Worst Christmas movie is Christmas Vacation...I dont know what it is but I hate that movie with a passion.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I probably start around September.

14. Ever recycled a Christmas present? Hmmm...Can't think of anything at the moment.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?  Turkey dinner with all the trimmings...Mmmm

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Ours are Prelit with clear nut I think multicoloured would fit with our mish mash of ornaments

17. Favorite Christmas song? O Holy Night, Away in a Manager, The First Noel, Little Drummer Boy...Mostly ones centered around the true meaning of Christmas. I do like ALL  I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU though.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?  All our close family lives within a 15 minute drive so its not really traveling.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Sure can...Ready, Set, Go...DASHER< DANCER< PRANCER<VIXEN<COMET<CUPID<DONNER (DONDER depending on version)< BLITZEN , RUDOLPH, and just for funsies OLIVE (All of the other reindeer)

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas Morning

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Hustle and bustle.

23. Favorite ornament, theme, or color?  All our special Ornaments - our tree is a mish mashed mess

24. What do you want for Christmas this year? An iPad. Think I will get one? Yeah, probably not. Guess I'm on the Naughty list again this year. Bah Hum Bug

You can read my original Christmas Question answers from 2011.See how much my answers have changed or not. Gotta run it sounds like dinosaurs have invaded the  basement.

Introducing SAWYER!!!
Born in August 2 weeks early after a strange, scary day that I may actually write about one day soon before I forget all the details. He was a nice 7 lbs, 10 oz. and 20 1/2 in. with lots of hair, the sweetest personality and look at the squishy face.

Sawyer 3 1/2 months old. Always happy and smiling away.

He's completed our family and lives. We love him to pieces and can't imagine life without him. Life isn't easy with our Fantastic Four but its worth it.  Things are definitely interesting around here and I doubt that will change for the next hmmmm.... 18 years or so.

Hello My Long Lost Friend!

Oh, my dear blog, how I've missed you. I know, I know its all my fault. You've sat here patiently waiting for me to visit you and I've neglected to for over a year. Its really inexcusable and yet I have a list of excuses a mile long running through my head, but bottom line it all comes down to the kids. Basically having 4 kids sucks the life right out of you and having 4 kids, 3 of which are 4 and under is almost a guaranteed free pass to the local nut house. The kids were the sole purpose to start this crazy thing and now they have been my excuse for staying away.  Well excuses no more. I have had several requests to start writing again and NO, it was not only my mom, I have strangely enough have quite a few people ask.  Apparently my trials and tribulations with the Wee Three were amusing and with the Fantastic Four its downright hysterical (not always the good kind either). So if people want to hear about our life and it makes them smile then why not.  I guess this means I'm coming out of retirement but right now this post will have to do.  I am fairly certain the baby had one of those poo explosions that the diaper can't possibly contain and its guaranteed to be halfway up his back by now. Welcome back to our Wee Three Fantastic Four and I hope you enjoy.

Our Fantastic Four meet for the very first time.
