Wordless Wednesday - Divorce Day Cupcakes

So because Camden loves baking while Ella is at school and Harmony is napping (its our thing) we made rainbow cupcakes for Mike's special day.

Camden helped with every step and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
Rainbows Momma!

He was so incredibly proud of himself!

Mmmm...Delicious just as I expected this day to taste - like rainbows and cupcakes!

Terrific Tuesday

There were so many great things today I'm not even sure I can remember them all but I'll try:
  • This morning we took a trip to the court house to get Mike's Final Divorce Papers and this is what a happy boy looks like!

  • We bought the girls their dresses for the wedding and Camden a cute little man suit. They are going to look adorable, of course they always look adorable but I'm biased.

  • We picked up the kids Easter portraits. They are super cute and I can't wait to share them with everyone as well.

  • We dropped Camden off at his Gampa Gampa's for an overnight visit. I love Camden but absence makes the heart grow fonder right?

  • I scrap booked with a friend.  Any day I get to scrapbook is a good day and I even managed to finally start Harmony's scrapbook. Oh, I am soooo far behind.

  • Pita's for supper, 'nuff said....I didn't have to cook and they are YUMMY!

  • We finished up the Easter shopping and spent some quality time with the girls since Mike decided to take a day off!!

  • I spent the whole day with the people I love and barely cleaned at all, which is a win-win in my books.
What terrific things did you do today?

That moment in time...

Have you ever reached that moment in time, that you thought you would never reach in a million years but have been have been dreaming about since, oh I don't know...ummm...for freaking ever?  I think we've reached that moment and it is so surreal.  We are discussing Wedding plans, I truly don't believe it.

There is so much to do, so much to plan and its making my head spin a bit (or maybe its the lack of sleep because my less than 3 hours last night just didn't cut it or its the 2 espresso lattes I've chugged this morning). The only thing that is settled is my dress, since I may have already bought it.  We may have also settled on a song or two.  The rest is all up in the air and man there is a lot to decide, which may be a problem since I can't even decide what to eat from McDonald's usually and the menu never changes.  Heck, it took us 9 months to name the kids ( before they were born not after...lol) so all this decision making may prove difficult.  Good thing Mike wants to help plan and I am not left on my own because it could become a bit overwhelming.  There is a venue to think about, date, wedding party, reception details, food, flowers, music and I am sure I could keep on going and going.  Our goal is to keep it simple, fun, relaxed and all about us.

So my friends, please raise your coffee cups (I would say beer/wine but its kind of early for that or maybe its not if you are a Mom) and join me in a toast to wedding plans and the next...*sigh* still 29 days to go before the next round of paperwork.  Enjoy your Tuesday! Cheers!

It's Finally Happening.

Remember yesterday? I do, I was upset, angry, frustrated and had simply had enough.  I have been waiting for something to happen for a very long time and well I was pretty sure that it was never going to happen.  The good news is that it is happening and step one will be happening tomorrow morning!  Step 2 will be happening next week and well Mike should be a free man come the summer.

I am so excited for us to become a real family. Yes, I know we are a real family but its awkward with different last names and its just a real hassle.  Let's be honest our kids deserve it as well.

We've been trying to get this done and over with for while but sometimes "life" just doesn't cooperate and well there is never a good time to pay for a Whole divorce, especially if you are a family of 5 (kids aren't cheap, especially when you have 2 in diapers).

Won't it be a lovely birthday present for me although I was hoping for something like an ereader, new record player (yes the thing that plays vinyls) or perhaps a night out but I guess all that matters is that its finally getting done and not on the sacrifices we will make.  At least this year I know its money well spent on something we will all enjoy in the long run.  Don't worry Mike has told me about an extra special gift I will receive that you really  can't put a price tag on (For all you dirty minded readers No, I am not talking about SEX but that's pretty fantastic too) If you really would like to know what this special gift is you will have to wait and see..I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise plus who doesn't love a good suspense once in a while.

A year ago on Mike's birthday he only asked for one thing, my hand in marriage (apparently I AM the best birthday present ever) and well how can I deny him that, have you seen his smile. So, tomorrow first thing we complete step one of making OUR dreams come true. After all an "Ex" is called an "Ex" because its an example of what you shouldn't have in the future.

Thankful Thursday - Counting My Blessings

On this rainy day, in December (Really, a warmish , rainy day, in December?  I don't get it.) I am counting my blessings.

  1. I have 3 healthy, happy, beautiful, and smart children.  I really couldn't ask for more.
  2. Mike and I are healthy, happy and doing great.
  3. A warm house filled with laughter and love (OK and the odd yelling NO, DON'T POOP ON the oh its already too late you pooped on the floor...remember the POTTY!!!!).
  4. A messy house. Really I am thankful for a messy house? Yes, I am because I can clean it up and it means...My kids have fun, are fed, clothed and bathed.  I am so busy doing all those things oh and sleeping (yeah right) that sometimes the house work slides a little bit.
  5. LEGO - Hours of endless entertainment!
  6. Naps because they are few and far between here, so when they happen its a miracle.  Even better if we all nap at the same time.
  7. Our families, because we have the best families we could ever ask for.
I am very happy and thankful for all that we have.  I truly Thank God for everyone and everything we have been blessed with.

Weekend Wrap up - Healthy- ish

I am glad to report that I am healthy again.  I think Little Miss Harmony is feeling much better as well and Camden seems to be fine so far.  Mike, well poor Mike isn't feeling so hot.  He isn't sick but he is a little achy and a bit weak.  I sure hope he doesn't get the full illness because nothing is worse than the Man-Cold.

We enjoyed a quieter weekend filled with family birthdays, a family dinner and lots of LEGO building.

I would love to kiss whoever invented LEGO, unless they are deceased because you know I am not really into that type of thing.  Call me crazy but decomposition isn't really one of my turn ons but enough about that.  LEGO has captured the hearts of 2 out of 3 little people in this house and well 2 big people as well.  We have discovered that its a huge motivator in this house, so we have been working on a certain little guy's potty training or well lack there of. We also used it as a motivator for another huge success in this house over the weekend but more about that tomorrow.

Overall, a good weekend spent with great people. It's great to be feeling better so that I can catch up on all the stuff I missed before, like the eleventy billion loads of laundry to be put away.  Yes, I know eleventy billion isn't a real number but it describes perfectly the amount of clean laundry that is heaped on the laundry room floor just begging to be folded and put away.  Ella's room also needs a good once over, well more like twice or three times over, my that child can create disaster in 10 seconds flat.  She claims her room threw up, cute right? Yeah not so much when its me cleaning it.  Good thing I have Christmas and LEGO as a motivator.

I hope everyone had a relaxing, healthy and happy weekend.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow to read all about Camden's big boy achievement that earned him some big boy Toy Story 3 LEGO.

Weekend Wrap Up - Perfect Weekend

We had the perfect weekend.  We did stuff with the kids.  We cleaned up the house.  We spent time with family.  We went out, with out kids.

It was a family wedding.  We ditched the kids and got dressed up in our best.

I may have had a few beers.  We danced and it was perfect.  Mike even sang in my ear during a slow dance or two.  I am a sucker for romantic gestures, beer and cheesy cell phone pics.

Hmmmmm.....

I am happy to report that after 5 years, kids, a dog and a house he still makes me weak in the knees and all butterflies in my tummy.  His eyes still light up when he sees me dressed up all pretty, which doesn't happen very often anymore but when it does he still makes a big deal about it.  He sure knows his way to this girls heart.  I feel like I have won the lottery.  I didn't think a man like Mike existed but I am so glad I found him.  Back off girls, he's taken but he does have a single brother
